Verbier

is a village located in south-western Switzerland in the canton of Valais. It is a holiday resort and ski area in the Swiss Alps and is recognized as one of the premiere "off-piste" resorts in the world. It deserves its reputation as one of Europe’s finest mountain resorts.

Verbier is in the French part of Switzerland, 1 hour and 45 minutes from Geneva, 2 hours and 45 minutes from Zürich and 30 minutes from the Italian and French borders. In the summertime there are 400 km of hiking trails and hikers can follow the tracks of the chamois and ibex through the mountains, some of them covered with snow all year round.

There are 200 km of mountain bike piste. Other activities include climbing, paragliding, swimming, golf, badminton, Ice karting, trips aboard the mountain railways in the area, and an annual music festival.

Our programs

Spring camp: Snow & Summer Sports in 2 destinations in Switzerland – Verbier & Zermatt for girls and boys from 7 to 18 years old from all over the world!
Verbier is in the French part of Switzerland, 1 hour and 45 minutes from Geneva, 2 hours and 45 minutes from Zürich and 30 minutes from the Italian and French borders.

2 WEEKS CAMP

  • The regular sessions are a 2 weeks camp: 1 week of Ski on the Matterhorn and 1 week of Summer Sports in Verbier. (1 week camp is also possible). Transfers from the airport of Geneva (GVA) or Martingy train station are provided (extra cost), 1 week in Zermatt includes: Accommodation with full board, Ski and Snowboard lessons, cultural excursions.
  • The week in Zermatt.
  • 1 week in Verbier.

 

 

Our accomodation

For the week in Zermatt we use the 4* Hotel Albana Real , exclusively reserved for our camps. In Verbier accommodation is provided in 2 comfortable challet, separated for boys and girls.

Accommodation in Zermatt

In Zermatt we use the 4* Hotel Albana Real, exclusively reserved for our camps. It is located 300 m from the centre of Zermatt and 300 m from the departure of the cable car. The rooms have 2 to 4 beds and are en-suite with all the luxurious extras you would expect from a 4* hotel in Switzerland.
 

Note:

  • Spectacular views of the Matterhorn, a comfortable lounge area, library, fitness room and swimming pool complete the facilities at the hotel.
Accommodation in Verbier

Our two purpose built wood and stone chalets follow the Swiss Alpine tradition and offer charm and comfort to our guests. Both chalets are situated in green, peaceful surroundings and only five minutes from the center of Verbier. The girls and boys are separated in each of the two chalets, which are completely equipped for holiday camps: large rooms with 2 to 4 beds and en-suite bathrooms, 2 spacious, sunny dining room with an open-planned sitting room, Open fireplace leading onto a south facing terrace with a barbecue; a library,  games hall, cinema, music room (or discothèque);  all equipment for indoor and outdoor games and sports: football field, basketball, volleyball and badminton courts, golf putting/driving range, trampoline, pétanque area and climbing walls. Conference rooms and internet room. Professionally equipped kitchens in both buildings.

 

Note:

  • Meals are prepared with fresh products and the wide-ranging international menus are well balanced and tailored to the youngsters’ needs, requirements and wishes.
  • Together the chefs and their teams prepare a variety of meals that also cater for the special needs of each individual (e.g. Vegetarian diet, European diet, Religious diet, etc).

Our activities

All activities are under the supervision of our counselors, and under the care of professional mountain guides for certain activities.

Activities in Zermatt:

  • The week in Zermatt is mainly focused on skiing or snowboarding.
  • Three hours of ski or snowboard tuition every morning in small classes.
  • After lunch a further two hours of ski guiding with the same instructor. This is the time when the students practice what they have learnt in the morning.
  • Daily après ski and evening activities are fully supervised by our staff. Swimming, ice skating, movies, indoor games, outdoor games, etc.
  • Our mountain staff are professional ski/snowboard instructors.
  • The six days skiing or snowboarding activity gives the children the ability to ski all the way down the mountain, a skill that they will have for the rest of their lives.
  • Excursions to Bern, Lausanne, Geneva (United Nations & Old Town), a cheese and a chocolate factory, Montreux (Chillon Castle) and Vevey are organized in order to provide to our campers all the best Switzerland has to offer.

Activities in Verbier:

The week in Verbier is mainly focused on summer camp activities:

  • Sports activities: Ropes course, Tennis, Swimming, Golf, Rock climbing, Hiking Aquapark, Waterskiing, Ball sports, Ice sports, Mountain biking, etc.
  • Optional paragliding tandem flights and horseback riding are also available.
  • Evening activities: Group games, Cinema, Disco, Visit to Europe’s largest labyrinth.
  • Social activities: Billiard, trampoline, cards games, music instruments, drama, campfires, picnic, bbq, boat trips, disco, talent show, photography at the campus, shopping in Verbier, Geneva, Italy during excursions.
  • Cultural and sightseeing excursions include two full day excursions to Lausanne, Geneva, Bern, Montreux or Gruyère.

TIPS FOR TRAVELERS

Arrival/departure: The school welcomes campers in the arrival hall of the Geneva Airport (GVA). We have our own office here. Our friendly and helpful staff will take care of the youngsters right away and then drive them with our private bus to the campus. Our campus can be easily reached within 1h50 after leaving the Geneva airport.

Packing list: Please be aware, that our camps are situated in the mountains. The climate on a mountain varies depending on what altitude you are on a mountain. Weather conditions can change dramatically from one hour to the next. For example, in just a few moments the temperatures can drop from very hot temperatures to temperatures that are quite chilly. Therefore, our campers should bring clothes for those conditions and be prepared for bright, sunny days on the one side and for sudden showers or temperature drops on the other side.
Each student’s articles should be clearly labeled with his/her full name. A supply of extra labels is also recommended for any new purchases (sport equipments or other).

For program in Zermatt: Packing list: In Switzerland, the Alps climate differs significantly from season to season, from very hot during summer to very cold and snowy during winter.
Other factors that should also be considered in your plans are altitudes and geographical locations. In the winter time, the climate in the northern part of the Alps can get very cold with temperatures going down to as low as -20 degrees Celsius or even lower.

Recommended items:

The weather:

  • in the winter is mountain style weather, with cold temperatures between 5°c and -10°C, with snowfalls.
  • In the summer Switzerland enjoys beautiful weather with temperatures of between 15°C in the mornings and 25°C in the afternoons with highs of up to 30°C.

  • ID card / Passport: Each student has to come to the camp with an ID card or passport.
  • Basic articles: 1 suitcase per student : 2 pairs of pyjamas, 6 shirts, 6 T-shirts, 6 changes of underwear, 6 handkerchiefs, 2 bath towels (swimming-pool), leotards, sufficient socks, trousers, pants, pullovers, ski clothes, warm boots, cap, scarf, gloves, a track suit, swimsuit, tennis-shoes, training etc.
  • Toiletries including a toilet-bag, laundry bag, sun cream, sun glasses, ski glasses (goggles), slippers, dressing gown, warm anorak.
  • NO JEANS UNDER SKI TROUSERS AT ANY TIME: USE LONG WARM THERMAL WEAR TOP AND BOTTOM.

Insurance: When you register for a camp, your child will have unlimited coverage for any kind of accident during the stay here in Switzerland. The insurance is valid between the date of arrival in and the date of departure from Switzerland. In PDF file you can see the general terms and conditions of our entrusted insurance provider. The cost is 120CHF per week.

Pocket money: Upon arrival, students may deposit their pocket money in the camp bank at the reception for safekeeping and withdraw money as needed. They can ask at the reception the amount depending on their needs each day. The reception will be open for the pocket money everyday at 5pm for the student use. Parents who wish to set a limit on their child´s daily allowance may do so by request. Spending money is generally used for the purchase of souveniers, extra snacks and drinks during activities or excursions and small purchases in the town shops including postcards, postage stamps, batteries, lollypops, etc. It is recommended that each student bring about 100 CHF of spending money for each week they will reside in camp. Before departure, any unspent money will be returned directly to the student.
