Fort Lauderdale

Studying and exploring enchanting Florida with numerous water sports and famous landmark attractions in the city known as the Venice of the Americas, one of the largest and popular yachting destinations in the world.

Our programs

A program designed for the whole family; while children learn and enjoy leisure time with activities and excursions, parents can enjoy free time or take an English course at our school as well.

Junior Program

  • OPTION 1: Weekday (tuition only; activities and food not provided) 
  • OPTION 2: Weekday (tuition and activities including 5 excursions including lunch- Monday to Friday) 
  • OPTION 3: Full week (tuition and activities including 6 excursions including lunch- Monday to Sunday) 

 

 

Tuition: 20 lessons of 45 minutes each in group of 15 students maximum, with focus on a communicative approach in order to develop productive and perceptive skills.

 

AdultGeneral English Course

  • 20 lessons of 45 minutes each (15 hours) in group of 15 students maximum
  • Every Monday (or the first Monday of the month if you are a beginner)

To develop your language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking), improve your knowledge of grammar and learn how to use it in practice.

AdultBusiness English in mini group

  • 20 lessons (15 hours) of English lessons per week, in group of 6 students.

A special focus on Business purposes.The lessons are largely task based and are planned to extend vocabulary, improve pronunciation, provide practice and develop confidence and fluency.

Our accomodation

LAL propose the following types of accomodations

Host home

Carefully selected families, usually between 1-5 miles from the school.

  • The family will provide bed linen and assistance with laundry can be offered.
  • Towels are not normally provided. 
Residence on Site

Fully furnished rooms with air-conditioned rooms with wi-fi. Linens are changed every three days. Towels are changed daily. Rooms and common areas of the hotel residence are cleaned daily.

  • Swimming pool, Jacuzzi, fitness centre, laundry facilities are available.
  • Continental breakfast included.
Shore Haven Resort

En-suite hotel rooms or studio/apartment with kitchenette.

  • Bed linen supplied once a week
  • Clean towels supplied every day expect Sundays
  • Common areas of the resort are cleaned regularly
Courtyard Marriott

Bed and breakfast hotel residence offering single and twins rooms.

  • En-suite bathroom, with a shower, WC, basin and hair dryer

Our activities

LAL propose the following types of activities

JUNIOR Full-day Fun excursion:

  • NASA: visit and explore the grounds from where NASA sends people into space; packed lunch included.
  • Seaquarium: miami Seaquarium, the longest oceanarium in the USA. Home to Flipper the Dolphin and Lolita the Killer Whale; packed lunch included. 
  • Rapids Water Park: home to exciting waterslides, there really is something for everyone; packed lunch included.

JUNIOR Half-day Fun excursion:

  • Museum of Discovery & Science and IMAX Cinema: over 200 interactive exhibits and the largest living Atlantic Coral reef in captivity. Following a visit to the local IMAX Cinema.
  • Sawgrass Mills Mall: hanging out in the largest outlet Malls of America.
  • Fort Lauderdale beach: a break on the beach with some typical beach activities, shops and cafes.
  • Deerfield beach: pristine beaches and beautiful ocean views for a walk or some activities like surfing. 
  • Aventura Mall: trendy boutiques in North Miami.
  • Delray Beach: beautiful beaches for a relaxing afternoon in the sun or to play beach volleyball or soccer.
  • Hollywood beach: enjoying a beautiful, well maintained beach between Miami and Fort Lauderdale.   
  • Town Centre at Boca Raton: shopping at fashionable stores.
  • Kayaking at Hugh Birch State Park: home to over 500 species of trees and plants and 200 species of birds, with a 3-seat kayak ride.
  • Pompano Beach: One of the prettiest beaches on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
  • John Lloyd State Recreation Area: a State Park to enjoy different activities including swimming and volleyball.
  • Ice skating: in Lighthouse Point.
  • The Gardens Mall: home to over 160 stores and restaurants.
  • The Movies: enjoying a movie in a typical movie theatre.

JUNIOR Full-day Sightseeing excursion:

  • Miami: to Miami South beach, to take a walking tour with a unique taste of this exciting and vibrant city. 
  • Key West Fury Ultimate Adventure: a relaxing trip into the ocean with possibility to snorkel, parasail, jet ski, kayak and a complementary drink enjoying the sunset; packed lunch included.
  • Fort Lauderdale City Tour and The Beach: tour of Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas followed by free time at the beach.
  • Fort Lauderdale Cruise: known as “the cruise of a lifetime”, it's a chance to see multi-million dollar mansions and yachts.

JUNIOR Half-day Nature & Wild excursion:

  • Everglades: Excursion to the Everglades, a subtropical wilderness with rare and endangered species, from the tiniest grass frog to the biggest crocodile. 
  • Palm Beach Zoo: Home to over 1,400 animals with main exhibit sections: Asia, Africa, the Amazon and Beyond, and Australia.
  • Gumbo Limbo: Home to a variety of marine life, including sharks, sea turtles and stingrays.
